Greetings:

Welcome to the online home of the Southern Region. I greet you on behalf of the more than 5,700 service minded men who labor countless hours and endless days to ensure the torch passed to us by our Jewel Founders remain bright and held high. The Brothers of Alpha South, since the regions establishment in 1948, have worked tirelessly to provide voice, vision, leadership and advocacy to the communities, cities, colleges and universities where we reside.

Alpha South, the largest of the five Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity regions, is comprised of over 230 college and alumni chapters in Alabama, Florida (to include the Bahamas and Virgin Islands), Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Founded on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on December 4, 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha is the first and oldest collegiate Black Greek Lettered Organization founded in the United States. From its humble beginnings on Cornell’s campus, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity has been at the forefront of the battle for racial equality, a trailblazer in the fight for quality education, spearheaded efforts to ensure the right to vote is unencumbered and a leader in supplying the talent needed to serve all citizens regardless of race, creed or color in support of our mantra, Alpha South: L.E.A.D.S….Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy, Dedication and Service.

The Southern Region website provides you with the opportunity to learn more about the rich history of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., introduce you to the leadership of Alpha South, highlight the projects, programs, events and activities of our chapters, offer details of upcoming events and activities, while allowing Brothers of the Region a safe and secure site to register for conventions, retreats and seminars.

Please enjoy your visit and feel free to provide your feedback, whether positive or negative to tech@apasouth.org.
